Pelvic Floor and Core Workshop
Who: Women who are pregnant, post-partum or having pelvic floor or core complaints. Any woman who has had any symptom including: urinary leaking with activity, pelvic floor pain with intimacy, low back pain, pelvic weakness, instability pain or weakness, sacroilliac joint dysfunction and diastasis recti or separation of the abdomen.
What: A workshop for women to learn how to properly engage pelvic floor and core with exercise, how to check your alignment, diastasis recti and learn basic treatments for pelvic floor and core. This is for any woman curious or interested in learning more about the pelvic floor, core and how to implement stability into your CrossFit practice. We will teach you strategies to improve stability that will not only improve your experience in CrossFit, but your quality of life outside the gym as well!
When: Saturday, March 9th 1:00 - 2:00 PM
Where: CrossFit Fort Vancouver
Why: Because everyone can be a little more stable!
About the instructors...
Christina Trautman, DPT Physical Therapist and Women's Health Specialist
Christina received her bachelor’s degree in Life Science from the University of Portland and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Pacific University. Through her training she found a passion in Women’s Health therapy, and went on to receive her Women’s Health certification through Herman and Wallace Institute Level 1 and Level 2. Christina has been treating and aiding women with pelvic floor dysfunction for over 9 years. She has also received her Pre- and Post-Natal Corrective Exercise Specialist certificate and is pursuing more classes in STOTT Rehab Pilates Mat and Reformer.
Christina specializes in treating pain syndromes, pregnancy and post-partum care, organ prolapse, incontinence and how to restore balance in the pelvic floor. She focuses on holistic are with a gentle approach to treating the pelvis and structures within the body that alter mechanics of the pelvic floor. She also offers a pregnancy and post-partum training program.
Christina is the creator of Bella Health and Wellness Studio and also works part-time at Therapeutic Associates in Hazel Dell and at The Tummy Team. Her desire is to treat women dealing with pelvic floor issues as well as helping pregnant and post-partum moms rehabilitate after having babies. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, getting outside and enjoys working out with pilates, yoga, barre 3 and CrossFit.
Dr. Shannon Anhorn is a board certified chiropractic physician and Craniosacral therapist. She is the chiropractor and owner of Cloud Chiropractic Clinic. Dr. Shannon is certified in Webster Technique, a chiropractic specific technique to help optimize pelvic alignment during pregnancy. She received her Doctorate of Chiropractic from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon. She also obtained a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University in Biology.
Dr. Shannon is very excited to bring her specialty of treating pregnancy, postpartum and pediatrics to the East Vancouver/Camas community. Dr. Shannon is an active civic leader on both the local and national level. She is a member of the Junior League of Portland, a nonprofit group focusing on improving the community, developing leadership skills of women and activating for women and children.
In her free time you will find her being active. Dr. Shannon loves attending Barre3 classes, Star Cycle classes, CrossFit at Fort Vancouver, training for triathlons and playing sand volleyball. She is also the proud mother of twin boys born June 7th 2017.
